Sydney Tourist Information

Sydney is an extremely diverse city that covers an area that spans over an extensive area. With a population of just over 4 million people it is the largest city in Australia, and one of the fastest growing.

Sydney Transport:
Sydney has a comprehensive public transport system with buses, ferries, light rail and trains that offer regular services that operate within the city's underground rail network and throughout the suburbs. There is an abundance of taxi services within the CBD that will also help you get to your Sydney destination.

Rail
Sydney’s railway network covers a vast area spanning from Bondi Junction in the east to the Blue Mountains in the west. Conveniently these services depart at least every 30 mins to most outer Sydney areas and inner city trains depart every few minutes.

Monorail
The Monorail in Sydney operates every day of the year from early morning until late evening. The Monorail runs every 3 to 5 minutes linking the Sydney City with Darling Harbour and providing easy access to many of Sydney's tourist attractions.

Light Rail
For convenience of travel Sydney Light Rail operates 24 hours a day 365 days a year. Trams run about every 10 to 15 minutes. Services run from Sydney Central to the outer Sydney area of Wentworth Park.

Buses
Sydney bus routes run to everywhere but the frequency of services vary and some services only operate in peak times. NSW State Transit also run a sightseeing tour throughout the city called the Sydney Explorer.

Water Transport
Sydney has an excellent water transport network that offers regular services from the Sydney Harbour foreshore suburbs and departs from Circular Quay. Terminating at Circular Quay ferries service the harbour area and Manly. Sydney Jetcats only service the Manly area and the Rivercat services the suburbs along the Parramatta River to Parramatta.

NSW State Transit also operates a day and evening sightseeing cruise every day of the week that will give you the opportunity to see the sights of the beautiful Sydney city from the water.

Airport Express
Sydney has two Airport Express bus services that operate every day of the week between 6:00am and 10:00pm.

Sydney’s Airport Express 300 runs between Sydney's International and Domestic Airports to the City Centre, including Town Hall, Wynyard and Circular Quay.

Sydney’s Airport Express 350 operates between Sydney's International and Domestic Airports to Oxford Street, Darlinghurst, Kings Cross and Potts Point.
